Residency by Investment provides that individuals can acquire permanent residency by investing in a country that has a residency by investment programme. There are a number of reasons why a person may wish to invest in a permanent residency. One of the reasons may be for security purposes, by residing in a safe and peaceful country one can have peace of mind for themselves and their families. Another reason may be for increased global mobility, for example the Portugal Golden Visa programme allows for travel throughout the Schengen Zone. These investment options for permanent residency are over a USD 1 million and may be a great option for investors looking to relocate to a tax free jurisdiction that is known to be sunny year round and being a leading jurisdiction for funds.
Another popular investment programme is the Panama friendly nations residency program. The Panama Friendly Nations program is one of the easiest, cheapest and quickest ways to obtain permanent residency in the world. Citizens of 48 friendly nations with professional and economic ties with the Republic of Panama can apply to become a permanent resident of Panama in a fast track manner. Residency in Panama allows you to live, work and travel within Panama. It is easier to open bank accounts, buy property and invest amongst other advantages. Panama City is the largest offshore and regional banking centre in Latin America and there is a facility to do business by being resident of Panama. Unlike many other countries that require you to live 183 days in order to qualify for residency, this is not the case in Panama and a minimal stay is required every 2 years to maintain residency status. Residency can be obtained in a few months and a few visits to Panama are required as part of the application process.
