Greece Golden Visa Program — Residence by Investment Program
The Greece Golden Visa program, whereby investors can obtain residence by investment, has granted over 3,000 applicants residence permits including over 5,000 permits granted to dependents in 2018. The number of applicants obtaining Greece Residence by Investment has grown significantly in 2018 compared to previous years. Greece is set have the most applicants for residence by investment in the world and some leaders in the industry predict that it will eclipse the US EB-5 program.
The investment contribution for the Greece Golden Visa Program starts at a minimum of EUR 250,000. The investment can be made into multiple properties either residential or commercial and the residency program is open to all non-EU nationalities.
The Greece Golden visa program first launched in 2013 and grants a five year residency visa with renewal every 5 years in return for an investment in designated real estate. Provided the property in Greece is maintained, successful applicants can maitain their golden visa. Citizenship can potentially be obtained if seven years of residency are maintained. What is most interesting about the program is that there is no minimum stay required in order to maintain the visa and children under the age of 21 can be included in an application of the main dependent. Some of the main advantages also include; ability to establish, potential rental income available on property, fast track European residency in 2–4 months, ability to travel within the Schengen area, great education & healthcare system, European lifestyle amongst other advantages.
