Caribbean Investment Summit 2018 Economic Citizenship
Prime Minister of St.Kitts & Nevis Honourable Dr. Timothy Harris delivered the keynote address at the 2018 Caribbean Investment Summit held at the Marriott in St.Kitts. Over 250 international marketing agents, local service providers, heads of government and heads of Citizenship by Investment Units (CIU) were in attendance. Conference attendees came from all around the world including China, India, Russia, United Kingdom, United States, Middle East, Malta and Cyprus.
The Caribbean Investment Summit is held every year and is an event designed to bring together all Caribbean jurisdictions offering Citizenship by Investment (CBI) and industry leaders to discuss issues affecting the CBI industry and to explore synergies and opportunities for growth. The theme of the 2018 conference was “Unity in the Age of Division.” Collaborating for a common cause to develop the industry was emphasized throughout the conference. Speakers included CEO CIU Antigua and Barbuda Charmine Quinlan-Donovan, Director CIU Dominica Ambassador Emmanuel Nathan, CEO CBI Grenada Kaisha Ince, CEO CIU St.Kitts and Nevis Les Khan, CEO CIU St.Lucia Nestor Alfred. The CBI industry is estimated worldwide to be a US$2 billion dollar industry contributing significantly to the GDP for small Caribbean nations such as Antigua & Barbuda, St.Kitts & Nevis, Dominica, St.Lucia & Grenada. Ensuring the quality and integrity of the CBI programs is of top priority.
Each Citizenship by Investment Program offers a path to obtaining a second passport in a fast manner by investing in the economy of the host country by either making a donation or an investment in government approved real estate. There are many advantages to obtaining a second citizenship which include security, family, global mobility and business advantages.
